The cards were a brick wall breaker. I had been looking for my Mother's father for my entire time of genealogy research. All of a sudden--up pops up some of the family's BMD records. On the bottom of a couple of the cards was a want ad sort of announcement from the Office of Records in New South Wales, Australia looking for his children. I am interested in knowing which newspaper printed it.

It said: WETTON:Would Joseph, Ina (my mother), and Thomas William, the children of John Wetton and Jennie or Jane Ethel Wetton (nee Parkin) please communicate with the Branch Manager, Pulic Trust Office, Box 660, Newcastle, NSW, Australia. Dated 11-7-1958

I wrote to the Office of Records and received his death record. I wrote to the Crematorium for further information and didn't get a response. The Office of Records sent me the name of a genealogist and his e-mail was invalid. I would like to know the distribution if his ashes and the name of the paper that printed the ad. All of the named persons are deceased but there are 3 grandchildren still living. We know something was amiss with his relationship with our grandmother, Jennie as he was an unspoken subject. I would like to find more info. My grandmother said she was widowed but his records said he was married.

Any info you might have or if you can guide me to someone who might be able to help would be gratefully appreciated.

Thank you,

I'm trying to trace an ancestor, Gerald Boate. The baptism of his daughter, Lucy, was recorded in Trimulgherry in the 1860's. As the father's occupation on Lucy's marriage certificate is 'Prison warder', we think he may have worked at the prison in Trimulgherry. Can anyone point me in a direction where I could find out? And find out where he went next? Thanks.

Hi David,

The database isn't ours I'm afraid. This article was just in forming people of it's existence. I can only suggest you contact The Institute of Heraldic and Genealogical Studies (IHGS) who created the index as they might be able to help you further. Contact details can be found on their website http://www.ihgs.ac.uk/index.html

Good luck with your search.

I have been trying to trace my grandfather who disappeared in 1938. During our investigations we came across a newspaper clipping contained in your database. This concerned my grandfather (Harry John Dickens Chambers) and must have been printed around 25.10.1964). Is it possible to find out which newspaper this came from?
I would be most grateful if you could supply me with this information as this would take us one small step further. I know that he is more than likely deceased but it would be nice to know were he is buried.

Many thanks for your kind help

Many thanks Phyllis. Sylvia Murphy has also suggested using the feedback facility on the http://fsbeta.familysearch.org website to report errors, provide opinions on relative useability of the different search facilities and their way of presenting results etc. The Feedback link is on the top right hand of the page which is an email link feedback@familysearchlabs.org
